SpaceDNA is an architecture and interior design practice based in Bengaluru and Cumbum, Tamil Nadu. Its name reflects the four design tools that define our approach — Space, Daylight, Nature, and Architecture. These elements guide every project and inform our pursuit of architecture that is thoughtful, experiential, and responsive. Our work seeks to explore the relationship between light, space, materiality, nature, and context to shape multi-sensory environments. Every project begins with a careful reading of its site, culture, climate, and the people who will inhabit it, allowing each design to emerge from its own unique conditions. Sustainability is integral to our design process. Through passive strategies, local materials, and a deep understanding of tropical environments, we seek to create architecture that is responsible, enduring, and in harmony with its surroundings.

SpaceDNA was founded in 2021 by Ar. Gladson Daniel and Ar. Gowtham Srinath Subramanian to pursue architecture rooted in continuous learning, curiosity, and a deep understanding of people and place. Today, the practice is led by Ar. Gowtham Srinath.

Gowtham graduated from C.A.R.E School of Architecture in 2016. His undergraduate thesis, Center for Regional Folk Arts, received recognition at various forums including NIASA, Archipedia, and Archiprix, leading to his participation in the Archiprix International Workshop, Chile, in 2019. He completed his internship at Mindspace Architects, Bengaluru, and continued with the practice as an architect until 2021, collaborating closely with acclaimed Architect Sanjay Mohe on a diverse range of institutional, residential, and commercial projects. Alongside his architectural practice, Gowtham continues to engage with academia, research, and the exchange of ideas. Between 2022 and 2024, he served as a visiting faculty member at C.A.R.E School of Architecture, mentoring the next generation of architects. An avid traveller, he believes that travel is one of the greatest teachers, continually shaping his perspective and inspiring his architectural approach through exposure to diverse cultures, landscapes, and built environments.

Since its inception, SpaceDNA has been featured in international publications and recognised through professional awards, including the ICI Ultratech Awards (2024), two awards at the IIA Young Architects Festival (2025), and a runner-up position in the National Banbasa Land Port Design Competition (2025).
